A.W. Dwight was a lieutenant colonel in the 122nd Regiment New York Volunteers during the Civil War. He was wounded twice (once on September 19, 1864 at Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia and once on October 19, 1864 at Cedar Creek, Warren County, Virginia) before being killed in action on March 25, 1865 in Petersburg, Virginia.
